After Manuel Verzeroli, already Youth class World Champion at the beginning of August at the Wales GP, Alex Belometti’s KTM PRO RACING SPORT in the seventh and final GP in France of the 2024 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, made it a hat-trick by winning two more World Titles with the young Junior Max Ahlin, a sensational dominator of the Junior Overall Classification and winner of the Junior EJ2 class.
A finale with a very sweet, honeyed, unparalleled, exquisite, extraordinary flavour!
This was the French Grand Prix, the last stage of the 2024 FIM EnduroGP World Championship which took place on 13-14-15 September in Brioude.
Race number seven of a season that we will never forget, which will surely be remembered in the history books of Enduro in which the KTM PRO RACING SPORT Team of Alex Belometti, made a clean sweep by winning three World Titles that fans were able to experience until the end with the triumph of the Bergamo team in a whirlwind of immense emotions.
KTM PRO RACING SPORT thanks to the support of KTM Farioli, its Sponsors, a series of top-level Technical Brands, challenged the other teams and their riders. But in the end it reached the finish line of a beautiful real enduro race followed by at least twenty thousand spectators with the result of having won three World Championships. The checkered flag in France, in fact, added two more gold medals to Verzeroli’s title with Ahlin, in a race that seemed like an eternity for tension and pathos.
Max Ahlin arrived in Brioude with a 14-point advantage over his Swedish compatriot Axel Semb, he did not lose lucidity and with determination and imposition he took the Junior Absolute title. A success that comes at the end of a season as a true protagonist, sealed by this ranking that saw him obtain the following results: 5 victories, 6 second places, 1 third, 1 fifth, 1 sixth.
In the Junior EJ2 category, Ahlin obtained: 9 victories, 4 seconds, 1 third.
Ahlin, on Saturday finished second in the Junior Absolute, while on Sunday he imposed himself with about 30 seconds of advantage over the second, always dominating the two days of the EJ2.
His race is always a lucid, calculated race, without smudges. If Ahlin concluded his season as a Super Champion, Manuel Verzeroli, as a rookie in the Junior EJ1, closed the race on Saturday in eleventh position Overall and seventh in the EJ1, while on Sunday he finished fourteenth Overall and still seventh in EJ1
From KTM PRO RACING SPORT a big thank you to KTM Farioli and KTM Italia for having made these results possible with their support, but above all, to all the Partners and Sponsors who in this incredible season, have chosen to stand by and follow Alex Belometti.
This French GP was impeccably managed by the local Moto Club Brioude who organized its first enduro race in 1972 valid as a test of the French championship. Brioude is a French town of 7,500 inhabitants located in the Haute-Loire department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region which also hosted the 1980 Six Days which ended with the victory of Italy in the Maglia Azzurra. Host of the French GP several times, the Moto Club Brioude in 2014 had organized its last Grand Prix in the land of the ancient Gauls.
The 75 km route was repeated 3 times with three special tests tackled in order: Cross Test of 5.3 km, Enduro Test of 6.8 km, Extreme test of 1.8 km, to which was added the Super Test held on Friday from 18:00 to 22:10. A total of 18 special tests were timed to which was added the Super Test.
Now just a few days of rest, because the KTM PRO RACING SPORT Team will return to the races on September 28-29 in Pistoia for the fourth round of the Italian Absolute Championships with the event organized by the Moto Club Valdibure.
ALEX BELOMETTI TEAM MANAGER
“A perfect season with two world titles won and a Junior2 Cup title, which is worth a World Championship in all respects. A result that rewarded the excellent team work and for this I want to thank and congratulate all the staff. The result of the French GP was also positive with Ahlin’s second overall position on Saturday in the Junior Absolute, while on Sunday he closed very well by winning the day. Verzeroli, in his first race in the Junior category, debuting on the KTM 250 EXC-F, after having always raced with the 125 2T EXC, struggled a bit on Saturday to find the right pace. On Sunday, however, he started off well, setting excellent times in the special stages. Only towards the end did he feel a little tired as the 250 4T requires a completely different riding style compared to the 125 2T. I would like to thank all the technical staff, both those who follow the races on the field and those who work at the team headquarters, KTM Farioli, all the Sponsors and the Technical Staff, who supported us in this incredible season! Thank you all.”
