WONDERFUL VICTORY FOR ANDREA MANTOVANI AT THE MotoE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN MUGELLO

On the famous Mugello Circuit Andrea won in front of his home crowd.

On Friday, after qualifying with an excellent fifth position, Manto got off to a great start in race one. In the first sector he was already in third position and from then on he fought for the first position for the remaining six laps. With a surprising entry three laps from the end Andrea took the lead of the race, but was forced to return third with two laps from the end, Andrea who drove superlatively throughout the race was not ready to finish in third position and he launched a last decisive attack on the last lap, with an overtaking that was nothing short of exciting he put him- self back in first position thus bringing home his first well-deserved victory in a world race.

In race 2, it started to rain, so the race was started as "wet". In the mist of water raised by the bikes that preceded him, Andrea managed to stay in fifth position, even setting the fastest lap in the race until on the fifth lap, given the poor visibility, he touched the white line and slipped. The 25 points earned in race one still allow him to move up from twelfth to sixth position in the world standings.

In just one week, the FIM Enel MotoE World Championship will be back on track for the third round of 2023 at the Sachsenring in Germany, Andrea says he is already ready to fight and still for the podium.

Andrea Mantovani:
Race 1 was just perfect! I pushed hard from the first to the last lap and I knew I could win! It was amazing. I am delighted to have achieved my first world victory here at home in Mugello in front of my home crowd. I'm sorry about how the second race went. Unfortunately the visibility was very poor from the cloud of water raised by the bikes, halfway through the race I pushed to close the gap from the leaders, but I couldn't see where I was going. In the chicane I touched the white line and the rear slid. Too bad, because I could have fought for the podium also in race 2. I still want to thank the CryptoDATA RNF MotoE Team.
